Studio Policies

Registration:
Registration is continuous for each dance season until the end of the session.
**The Fall/Spring season runs September - May. Registration for this season is continuous from date of registration through the end of May. Tuition is billed monthly for 9 equal installments.
**The summer season is typically 6-8 weeks in June, July, and August. Registration is for the full session. Tuition for the summer session is billed as one installment payable at the time of enrollment. Drop-in rates are available during the summer to attend classes occasionally.

Refunds / Credits:
There are no refunds for monthly tuition or fees. Students may make up missed classes in another similar class within two weeks of an absence with teacher approval. Students who withdraw after costume fees or performance fees have been paid, forfeit the fees paid. Credits may be applied to future classes dependent on the situation and amount of notice given.

Withdrawal:
We understand children's interests change and some circumstances require people to withdraw from classes. A written withdrawal notice must be received prior to the 1st of the month to cancel enrollment and exempt you from the next monthly installment due.

CLASS PLACEMENT:
Classes are divided by age and experience. Placement is initially based on age. Instructors have sole discretion regarding placement, and may suggest students be moved to a different level after a few lessons. It is our goal for students to be comfortable emotionally, physically, and socially in the level class they attend. A dancer's height is not a determining factor for class placement. More advanced dancers may be interested in multiple classes per week to further increase their technique.

CLASS UNIFORMS: We use class uniforms to create uniformity, allow teachers to verify proper alignment of students, and give us the ability to do classroom and community performances in matching attire without purchasing new items. All items are purchased through the studio.

RECREATIONAL CLASS MONTHLY TUITION:

Tuition is paid in 9 equal monthly installments due on the 1st of each month September - May. All families must be enrolled in auto pay with a card kept on file. A $15 late fee will be assessed each month that tuition is not paid by the 1st due to a failed transaction.

Tuition installment amounts are based on the hours of class taken per week. A payment plan may be made to pay in 10 installments, if needed. Performance fees include a costume, new tights, digital video of performance, and tickets to the show. See tuition rates and other fees HERE.

COMPANY CLASS MONTHLY TUITION:
Company tuition is paid in 10 equal monthly installments due on the 1st of each month August - May. All families must be enrolled in auto pay with a card kept on file. A $15 late fee will be assessed each month that tuition is not paid by the 1st due to a failed transaction.

Tuition installment amounts are based on the hours of class taken per week. Costume fees are based on number of dances. Performance fees include participation in the performance, digital video of performance, and tickets to the show. See tuition rates and other fees HERE.

Policies:
Below are tips to make sure things go smoothly in the studio, and a few ways to make your dance experience the best that it can be.

Stay Connected
• Check the website often. Answers to many common questions can be found on the website including important updates and the studio calendar.
• Log in to your Parent Portal account to see charges to your account, due dates, and to pay online. You can access the Parent Portal through the Login tab.
• Dancers’ Corner is also on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/DancersCornerLR We update our page often - information on studio closures, special promotions and studio news will be shared there.
• Make sure Dancers’ Corner has the correct contact information for your family. Update your e-mail addresses and any contact information through the Parent Portal or at the front desk. You can add additional contacts through the Portal so multiple people receive the information. All of our important announcements and tuition notices will be sent through email.
• If you have questions about your account that our front desk personnel cannot answer or for your dancer’s teacher, please send an email to Mrs. Sandy at DancersCornerLR@yahoo.com. Our classes run on a tight timeline and Mrs. Sandy and the other teachers normally won’t have time to answer questions or address issues between classes.

Studio Logistics
• For the safety of our students, dancers should be picked up and dropped off inside the studio. Dancers may not leave the studio without an adult.
• Students should not be left unattended prior to or after their class. Teachers and studio staff are not available to babysit between classes. Please pick up your dancer promptly at the end of their class. If you are running late one day, please call and leave a voicemail so we know why your dancer is waiting late.
• Come a little early to class, but not too early as we need room in the lobby for families of students in class. 5 - 10 minutes should give your dancer enough time to use the restroom, get their shoes on and get prepared for class. The studio opens 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day.
• Dancers should use the restroom before class. Students should not leave the dance room to go to the restroom, they miss instruction time and distract the entire class. We will allow students to go the first few weeks (or in an emergency), but the goal is for dancers not to leave the room after class begins.
• Dancers should be ready to start dancing at the time their class starts. This means they have their required class leotard, tights and ballet shoes on, hair ready and are inside the studio. If your dancer needs to change at the studio, please allow ample time. **See the website, email Mrs. Sandy, or verify at the front desk if you are unsure what your dancer’s required dress code is.
• If changing at the studio, please use the dressing room stalls or close the main curtains to the full dressing room instead of getting dressed in the restroom. Restrooms should be left open for those who need to use the facility.
• DANCERS SHOULD NEVER WEAR THEIR DANCE SHOES OUTSIDE! Debris can get ground into the soles and then tear our dance floor.
• TAP SHOES SHOULD NEVER BE WORN IN THE LOBBY! The exception is being fitted for tap shoes and dancers must remain on the rugs. The lobby has recently been re-waxed and will be like an ice skating rink in tap shoes.

Lobby Etiquette
• Absolutely no food, gum or drinks should be brought into the studio lobby, dressing room, or dance rooms. Please do not bring your snack wrappers into the studio to be thrown away. Our building is older and bugs can be attracted easily and quickly (overnight, ants will make a trail if food is in the building). **Water is the only beverage allowed.
• Please do not allow children to tap on the viewing windows or "play" in the store or desk area. Children who are not dancing should stay in the lobby area, not the dressing rooms or back hallway. Quiet play is expected to avoid distracting dancers!
• Please keep the lobby noise to a minimum. This includes parents visiting or having their own phone conversations. Sound carries easily into the dance rooms and distracts dancers. And, the receptionist needs to be able to talk to customers.
• We ask that parents do not enter the dance room during a class. Our teachers and assistants will come get you if we cannot resolve an issue with a student.
• For the convenience of our parents of infants & toddlers, there is a diaper pail located in each restroom. Please do not dispose of diapers or pullups in the trash cans. There is a built-in wooden bench in the back half of the dressing room which works as a changing table.

Personal Items
• Dancers’ names should be on all dance items. We will check all shoes at the studio the first day and place them on the bottom of tap shoes with tape and inside ballet slippers on the sole patch.
• The lost and found bookcase is located in the back half of the dressing room - check it often. Items left at the end of each semester will be donated.
• Students can leave belongings in the back hallway or under chairs in the lobby. Do not leave bags, jackets and street shoes in the dressing room.
• Leave valuable items at home – Dancers’ Corner is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Finally, please do not "punish" students by making them miss dance. It affects their entire class and their ability to keep up with what is being taught in class. Students who miss often during recital season (February-May) could be removed from parts of the class dance.

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Sandy at DancersCornerLR@yahoo.com or 501-666-9538.

We look forward to a wonderful season of dancing with you!

-Dancers’ Corner staff
