MISSION STATEMENT
We provide quality dance instruction, with an emphasis on classical Ballet, in a family atmosphere. Our goal is to share our love of dance with our students in a non-competitive environment while insuring age appropriate choreography, music, and costumes in all classes! All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to achieve confidence through different forms of movement while learning the discipline of dance.
OUR PROGRAM
Dancers' Corner was established in July of 2010 by Mrs. Sandy Hunter Miller when her teacher, Lorene McAfee Patterson, retired and closed McAfee Ballet, a staple business in Hillcrest for over 50 years. Mrs. Sandy wanted to continue a Ballet based program in her mentor's footsteps. The other teachers from McAfee joined Mrs. Sandy in creating the new studio, giving the staff many years of experience working together as students, classmates and teachers.
Dancers' Corner is celebrating our 15th year with the 2024 - 2025 season! Our enrichment classes focus on the classical art of Ballet with Tap and Jazz to enhance the learning experience. We also offer Ballet only & Dance Company classes for students who are interested in a more focused curriculum, including extra community performances. Our Ballet Company students experience dancing en Pointe based on individual ability and progress.
Our classes are offered after school, in the evening, and on Saturdays to meet the needs of many families. Students may begin as early as 2 years old with our Dance with Me! (parent-child) program and then join our performance classes for ages 3 to adult. Our adult classes are also a thriving element of our program!
We pride ourselves on creating and offering an age appropriate experience for all involved. From our youngest to our oldest and most advanced students, costumes are modest, and music and choreography are appropriate for the dancers and the audience members who will be watching them perform!
Our program has grown from one dance room and three instructors when we opened in 2010, to two dance rooms and five instructors in 2013, and now in 2019, we are adding a third dance room and have 10 instructors on staff! We love sharing our passion for dance with students and appreciate all the families who choose Dancers' Corner for their child's dance education!
